i mean, she knocked it out of the park repeatedly in 2.21, but i love this shot in particular. she captures betty’s fear at knowing something horrible is about to happen–but also captures her confusion. all of her attention has been on her dad (of course) so she has no idea what’s going on with jughead. she doesn’t know fangs was shot, she doesn’t know the ghoulies are back, she doesn’t know penny has returned, she has no idea what’s happening with the boy she loves. his phone call put her on red alert and she doesn’t have a clue of what to be afraid of
